Introduction to Empty Jug Racing

Empty Jug Racing is a private club organized for the purpose of having fun racing street stock and older late model stock cars.  We are a non profit organization operated by our members.  We hold to 10 events a year on a 1/8 mile dirt track located five miles east of Hawley, Pennsylvania.

The track and surrounding property are owned by the Empty Jug corporation; the corporation leases the track and pit area to the Empty Jug Racing Club on meeting dates, work days and race dates.  The rest of the time the Empty Jug property is private and used by the Empty Jug corporation for other purposes.

Membership in the Empty Jug Racing Club is limited and controlled by the officers, but basically open to all persons who want to get involved in dirt track racing as more than a spectator and are willing to abide by all the rules and traditions of conduct while helping out in the operation of the club and running the races.  Aside from race teams, members are also needed who are willing to help out with scoring, flagging, safety, track preparation, and a host of other tasks.  Many of our race teams  are looking for pit help, so hanging around and volunteering to lend a hand is an excellent way to learn what's involved in fielding a car.

The first step toward getting involved or seeing if you want to get involved is to give us a call and make arrangements to attend the next race, meeting or work day.  There is no admission fee or cost involved, and that way you can get to know the people, the facility and what goes on.   Email racing@emptyjug.org, or call Woody at 570 226 4703 to confirm the date and get directions to the track.
