Meeting Notes                         Empty Jug Racing Club                                 March 19, 2006

With snow falling outside my window, racing season seems somehow far away, but after yesterdays Spring Meeting at the Empty Jug clubhouse, the May 6th opener doesn't seem that far away now. Especially if you are like me and Chuck, and have only 7 weeks to practically build a car!

After much uncertainty throughout the winter, the addition of two new teams, and the return of an original member put aside many of the fears that we may have to cancel this year because of lack of participation.  We now expect eight full time entrants, and have a potential for at least one other team, and a returning racer on a part time schedule.

Fourteen members showed up for the meeting, which was opened by President Woody Hutchinson at 1:00.  First order of business,,,,sign up and welcome new members.  Ralph Davis, Gary Repsher, Guy Cook, and Stan Fields will join us full time this year.  Also, everyone was pleased to see Jimmy Smith show up to let us know he has a new car, and will be back after taking a couple years off.  Ralph and Gary will field a new entry, Guy now owns Chuck Rosemergy's old car, and Stan will join Wayne to run the K-Krew #85.

Saturday Morning, Wayne and Woody went to look at a new roller, a possible replacement for our old Galion.  Looks good, and the price is right if we can get it running.  Chuck offered to go give it a try, and if it works out, we will go thru with the purchase.

George Hibbs will contact Wickle to come get the old Roller.

Eddy Boyle will assess the condition of the water truck and report to Woody what is needed so we can tune it up and ensure it runs good for the summer.

Ralph says he knows of some old water tanks, and will try to acquire same.

Pres. Hutchinson has been asked to fashion a floor thickness rule in the interest of safety, and he will come up with that well in advance of the first race.

The first Work Day is set for Saturday, April 15. Track grading and enlargement of the "Sippy" hole will be addressed.  We will tentatively have a backhoe and dump truck on site.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 with everyone pumped to get back at it.

The 2006 schedule is ready to be typed, and I will get it posted and sent to everyone ASAP.

Good luck everyone!!                 Wayne Kmieczak, Sec.
