This was the first race for two drivers new to Empty Jug Racing, Nick Barnes and his #7 Chevy Nova and his Dad Gerard Barnes who recently purchased and is racing the former #85 now #8 Chevy powered Buick chassis.  It was also the first race back after missing two dates for Rob Markhard's #5 FDNY Howe late model. Wayne Kmieczak was back with a new engine in his new #85 Camaro Pro Street car.  The 15, 21, 24 and 81 were also there making it an eight car field.  As it turned out only seven cars ever managed to start in the same race, but it was good to see some new faces and cars on the track.  Very dry and sunny hot weather slowed the pace of the day race to race because watering the track took a long time and then it dried really quickly. But with all those cars there we still had enough to race until dusk shut us down.
